Premium varieties, exceptional quality
At PHIPPEN FARMS LTD., we specialize in cultivating two of the most globally demanded and high-performing grain classes, ensuring unparalleled quality for our customers:
- Argentine Canola (No. 1): Our "double-zero" canola is specifically bred for its high oil content and favourable fatty acid profiles. This makes it a top-tier choice for both the food and industrial sectors, standing apart from older rapeseed varieties. In 2024, we proudly produced 477 tonnes of this superior canola.
- CWRS Wheat (No. 1): Canada Western Red Spring wheat is highly valued by millers in over 80 countries. Renowned for its naturally high protein content, superior milling performance, and high-volume baking quality, our CWRS wheat is a testament to Canadian agricultural excellence. In 2024, our harvest yielded 816 tonnes of this premium wheat.
As an active participant in field and seed production, PHIPPEN FARMS LTD. maintains higher standards of genetic purity and seed health than a standard commercial farm, utilizing professional services for seed cleaning and treating to ensure advanced quality control from the very start.

Our approach to sustainable farming
At PHIPPEN FARMS LTD., we adopt a professional and high-grade approach to growing our grains. We utilize specialized methods to ensure our No. 1 Canola Argentine and No. 1 Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) Wheat meet the highest standards of quality and performance:
- Strategic Crop Rotation and Soil Health: We implement a robust rotation strategy, typically planting canola every third year on dryland and following two years of wheat under irrigation. This rotation allows canola to act as a "break crop," helping to lower root disease pressure that can build up with continuous cereal crops.
- Sustainability and Carbon Sequestration: Situated in Saskatchewan, a low-carbon leadership hub, we benefit from and contribute to sustainable practices. Our use of zero or minimum tillage helps sequester carbon and maintain healthy soils, showcasing our commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Precision and Quality Control: We use professional seed treatments and other optimized inputs to maximize crop health and yield potential, ensuring superior grain quality.
